Sony announced recently the drop of the Xplod sub-band to reflect the high tech car audio produce the Sony name has be known for. Sony first dropped the Xplod name on the DSX-S100 receiver about a year ago but still used the name in its single CD lineup.

Although, Sony want to change the outlook of the consumers on their outlook on the Sony brand. They will still offer the Xplod  low-end models at Walmart. Which seems to be a great way for Sony to still supply all their future and existing customer with affordable produces.
